Logline: After crash-landing on a hostile alien planet, a spirited young trans woman and her well-meaning father must learn to better understand each other and repair their ship if they want to leave the planet alive.

ANASTASIS is a narrative short film that aims to present an intimate view of what it’s like to be trans in a way that’s accessible to broad audiences and pays homage to the science fiction filmmaking of the late 1970s. We’ll be employing traditional filmmaking techniques like miniatures, motion control, and forced perspective to bring the story to life, and using Utah’s natural desert landscapes to portray the barren planet.
